How Can I Get Some Beef?
We generally butcher in the spring, summer, and fall but our cows determine the schedule - not us. You can buy halves or quarters, and occasionally we have some ground beef to sample. There can be a waiting list as we try and serve our loyal existing customers. However, if you have been advised by a health professional to switch to an all grass fed beef diet please contact us and we will try and get some for you.
Our farm is located in Palestine, IL a 4 hour drive straight south of Chicago or 2 hours south west of Indianapolis. You are always welcome to come to the farm to collect orders and see our operation. We have drop off locations in Orland Park, Glenview and Indianapolis.

In 2014 Flying S began a children’s program designed to give local children the opportunity to learn about science in a fun and engaging way. Flying S has hosted interactive workshops about CNC Machining, Carbon Fiber Composites, Grass Fed Beef, Egg Drop, Pine Car CO2 Derby and Bridge Building Competitions.
In June 2015, 53 children got to build their own rocket and launch it. Check out the short video about it here: Flying S Cadet Video

“A Day on the Farm” - TBD, 2016
A Day on the Farm has been postponed. Each year we like to invite our customers to enjoy the beauty of the farm. Check back for more details soon. Basic plan right now will involve a simple BYO picnic dinner by the pond, a sunset hayride to visit the cows and calves followed by fireworks at dusk.
GMO Free Chickens*
Our chickens are raised on fresh pasture and fed Non GMO feed (chickens unlike cows need some grains in their diet). They are $4.00/lb and the average bird size is 4lb each. Click here
to see my article on “How to Stretch 1 Chicken into 3 meals”.
Unfortunately we don’t have enough hours in our day to raise the chickens on our farm anymore, but our chickens are raised by families a few miles from us, exactly how we would do it.
*We are now taking orders for spring chickens that should be ready in June 2016.
